[GMS2] Rogue (1980) Dungeon Generator
A downloadable asset pack
Just a simple procedural generation method that can be used to recreate the feeling of classic dungeon crawler roguelikes like the original Rogue back in 1980.
This is a completely modular set of functions that can be used to generate a random dungeon in a (very close) manner as that of Rogue. The generation is extremely fast and its various macro definitions allow you to control may aspects of it, like creating long or tall dungeons, room sizes, rooms being bunched up or far apart, enemy and loot numbers, and more.
The code is simple if you understand the idea of how it works and also fully commented, but it may seem rather complex at first glance.
Use this however you wish, modify it as much as you want and even improve upon it because I am sure there is space for lots of it. Credit is not required, but always appreciated. Do not resell as your own.
If you have any suggestions, questions, improvements or find any bugs, feel free to leave a comment.
